Music has always been a huge part of my life ever since I was a young boy .I would watch my father DALE HONSINGER, standing on the stage singing and playing the music he loved and that music was COUNTRY MUSIC. My father was always playing with some of the best players. Two of my dad’s friends who he has been playing with for years STEVE WHITE AND AL BRUNO, became idols to me for their guitar picking ability’s. Both have played with numerous act’s throughout the years and AL was named ACM GUITAR PLAYER OF THE YEAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS IN A ROW.
STEVE WHITE was just inducted into the BAKERSFIELD HALL OF FAME. I’ve been blessed for last couple of years to have these players share the stage with me, because there is no one that can play the REAL COUNTRY like the guy’s who molded it. RICK TUCKER was very large in Ventura County, with his band .Rick would let me get on stage, with my guitar when I was about four years old. Rick has continued to help me to this day. Rick has played and written songs with some of the best in the music business, Rick and I have written many songs together I ‘m sure you will like them when you hear them .I’m also blessed to get to work with STEVE HILL, Steve has written several hit song’s. THE DESSERT ROSE BAND can thank Steve for some of their hits. NOW YOU CAN WATCH OUT FOR SOME OF OUR HITS!I started going to rodeos, and ropings at a very young age. my grandfather Bob Marcellus is well respected in the rodeo world my grandfather started me on a roping dummy when I was strong enough to swing a rope. He is one of my hero’s, that is why I took on the family tradition of roping and bulldogging. One of the highlight’s of my life was last February I went to Texas to rope with my hero. As expected I didn’t have it all right yet.
Music always has been a part of my grandfather’s life. Some of his favorites are the western story song’s, that has kept me in touch with traditional western music. Some of my influences in music has come from MERLE HAGGARD, RAY PRICE, GENE WATSON, VERN GOSDIN, WAYLON JENNINGS , JOHNNY CASH ALONG WITH REX ALLEN, SONS OF THE PIONEERS, RED STEGALL, DON EDWARDS I would like to thank everyone who has helped me to get where I am today. I will hold in my heart always the things that have been given me.
